What I've Been Watching Pt. 3

i have become so incredibly transfixed by learning about healing the body through nutrition. meaning: no diets and weight-loss programs, no excessive gym dwelling, no pills, surgeries, chemo, etc., but, rather, going back to nature and eating from the soil. from the roots. a plant-based, raw, super-food, vegetarian diet. we can enable our bodies to be impossible for cancer to penetrate through what we eat. so why don't our doctors tell us this? well, in all fairness, they don't know. medical school does not teach its students alternative medicine, vitamin therapies, or, most importantly, nutrition! instead, med schools are endorsed by pharmaceutical companies therefore leading to most doctors'strong knowledge and insistence on drugs. we will not get anywhere in beating chronic diseases and terminal illnesses by just throwing pills at the symptoms, or ingesting carcinogens through chemo. it has to start with what we are eating. plain and simple.

there is no medication on earth that is more effective in treating illnesses than a raw, plant-based, organic diet. that is proven time and again throughout forks over knives. Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn and the biochemist Colin Campbell share their scientific proof and show their recovered patients who have arrested and reversed their chronic diseases through a raw plant-based diet.

i took so many notes while watching this film. seeing the gorgeous kris carr of crazy, sexy, cancer go on to fully recover after being diagnosed with cancer at age 31, solely by changing what she ate and where it came from, was truly incredible. there are other speakers in this film who have gone on to recover and shed their weight and illnesses through switching to a juicing, cleansing, raw, organic diet.

this was probably my favorite out of the three, simply based on the insane facts of misleading medical information we are taught since infancy. i found professor andrew saul to be incredibly informative and charolette gerson, daughter of Dr. Max Gerson of the gerson theory, was unmistakably glowing and healthy in her very, very old age throughout this film. charolette even touches on how we not only need to eat and receive our nutrients from plants in the soil, but our soil also needs to be nutrient dense and organic as well- not chemically tainted with pesticides, herbicides, and dishing toxins into our bodies.

"good health makes a lot of sense; but it doesn't make a lot of dollars."
"1/4 of what you eat keeps you alive and 3/4 of what you eat keeps your doctor alive." - Andrew Saul.
