End of Summer

summer has gone as quickly as it came. this morning at 6 am, i walked over to union square to get coffee beans and it just smelt like fall outside. it was brisk all afternoon and felt lovely.

i'm going to miss the summer in the city. it's light all day long, with dinners eaten outdoors and bike rides to brooklyn.

in other news, i bought an espresso maker to make lattes (i ice them, of course) and so far it has gone well and is saving me money at the moment. latte's twice daily can get expensive 'round these parts.

today a friend and i went to roberta's pizza in brooklyn, and it was delicious. (the "cheesus christ" with mushrooms was insane). although i do have to say, my stomach has been in knots since i ate it at 3 pm. seems that when you do stop eating gluten, then ingest it again, you really, really feel the effects of it. i have never needed a doctor to tell me that i absolutely have an intolerance to wheat gluten. years and years of acid indigestion, reflux, heartburn, and overall stomach pain are enough of a confirmation for me.

so now i'm home sipping a latte curled over in discomfort, but overall, it was a beautiful day with great company.

all is well.

her memory lives on now.
i will join her soon."
