so, i'll just say it straight up, this film was extremely anger-inducing. i was upset the entire time mainly because the issues discussed in this film are actually real problems in the united states that nobody talks about. i didn't know it was illegal (in most states) to sell raw milk; which was a natural and healthy consumption in most american diets' for centuries. but we can give our kids factory farmed fast food three times a day? or smoke around them? this is a must see. we need to keep small american farms alive.
i was in tears for most of this. i never realized how many of our kids in the u.s. are starving. actually starving, because there is little to no government assistance and proper funding for school lunches. it's beyond sickening. how are kids supposed to focus in school on empty tummies? how are they supposed to fight obesity when all their mom's can afford are the .95 cent bag of chips compared to the 3.00 dollar head of broccoli? sound-tracked by the civil wars, this documentary was eye opening and tugged on my heart strings the most these past two weeks.
